摘要

In order to make electrical machine design having a good performance,mininial volume, low price, reliable operation and convenient maintenance, in the design of common machines we select lower values of yoke flux densities. However, in the design of permanent-magnet machines, especially with those material of NdFeB or SmCo, the higher values should be selected as the yoke flux densities.thus making flux leakage coefficients relatively small, which results in the sufficient use of energy in the magnets and an optimized machine design. The paper presents a practical sample design of permanent-magnet linear actuator and also its equivalent magnetic circuit, which is a strong proof of my viewpoint.
