The paper presents the role of high temperature gas cooled reactors for chemicalrnsynthesis of hydrogen, oxygen and many hydrocarbons as synthetic fuels. The reaction kinetics detailsrnof the synthesis and separation of the reaction products are highlighted. The reaction schemes and thernflow sheets of all these processes are presented. The techno-economics of energy generation/ hydrogenrnproduction using HTGCR is looked in to.
