The code package CALOR, used for prediction ofrncalorimeter performance, has for decades been a looselyrncoupled system of the three stand-alone particle transportrncodes HETC; for high-energy meson and hadronrnparticles, MORSE; for neutrons below 20 MeV, andrnEGS4; for electron, positron, muon and photon transport.rnThese codes are being forged to a unified code, with thernbackbone of a single secondary particle bank. Internalrnscoring routines are being integrated. Furthermore,rninterfaces are being implemented for plugging in otherrnevent generator modules and for plugging in CALOR as arnparticle transport engine into other code systems. Thisrnpaper will report on the progress of the effort.
