UNDERSTANDING CLEANROOM DESIGN CONSTRUCTION

Cleanrooms are unlike any other facility type. Done correctly, cleanroom design andrnconstruction differ significantly from conventional construction industry standards. Too oftenrncontamination-controlled environments fail to operate at expected levels. They usually suffer from overrndesign or poor management. Many require costly renovations needlessly. This seminar presents anrnoverview of the entire design and construction process with emphasis on six crucial phases: Selectingrnand Firms, Cleanroom, Concept Design, Detailed Design, Clean Construction, and Cleanroom. Whenrnand how to develop critical items such as contamination criteria, a utility matrix, and area requirementsrnare presented. Special attention is given to developing a project budget along with techniques forrncontrolling costs through completion of construction.
