Evaluating the Impact of Factors on the Shift of Economic Structure in Vietnam

For the economic development goals of Vietnam by 2020, the economic structure is moving towards increasing the proportion of construction industry group and service group, and gradually reducing the share of agriculture group in GDP. Accordingly, the shift of the economic structure leading to the contribution of sectors to the output of GDP has also changed. In this paper, the authors examine the impact of factors on the shift of economic structure in Vietnam. Quantifying the impact of factors that affect the shift of economic structure is also measuring the positive impacts on the increase of VA proportion of construction industry group and service group in GDP. Our findings indicated that labor proportion and labor productivity of construction industry and service group have strongly positive impact on the VA share of non-agricultural sector and an increase in labor proportion of service group will have a greater impact on the shift of economic structure.
