With the development of rubber industry, a lot of waste rubber is produced in the world every year. The recycling of waste rubber has very important significance. Manufacturing scrap rubber powder (SRP) is the main recycling route for waste rubber. Elastomeric blends with SRP are a class of polymeric systems, which can achieve two important purposes, namely, to obtain materials with good properties with a low cost / price ratio and to allow the recycling of scrap rubber powder (SRP). Unfortunately, most elastomers, having chemical structures strongly different, are incompatible with SRP and their resulting mechanical properties are very low. Many efforts have been devoted to compatibilize the blends of elastomers and SRP and improve the processability and cure characteristics of the blends.
