This study explores an approach that simultaneouslyrnestimates Antarctic mass balance and glacial isostaticrnadjustment (GIA) through the combination of satelliterngravity and altimetry data sets. The results improvernupon previous efforts by incorporating reprocessed datarnsets over a longer period of time, and now include a firnrndensification model to convert the altimetry volumernestimates into mass. When the GIA models createdrnfrom the combination approach were compared to insiturnGPS ground station displacements, the vertical ratesrnestimated showed good agreement after a systematicrnbias was removed from the computed GIA models. Thernnew models suggest the potential for GIA uplift in thernAmundsen Sea Sector, as well as the possiblernsubsidence in large parts of East Antarctica.
