Development drilling on the Lunskoye gas field, located offshore the east coast of Sakhalin Island, Russia, started in early 2006. The first well in the drilling sequence is a cuttings re-injection (CRI) well that is planned to allow the re-injection of all the drill cuttings from the development wells. Initial re-injection studies for the Lunskoye field where based purely on nearby exploration and appraisal well data. Using an integrated reservoir modeling approach, static models have now been generated for the deeper injection intervals. These models will be tested by the CRI well, updated and used in the planning of additional CRI wells and future produced water re-injection (PWRI) wells and in updating fracture prediction models. The integrated modeling approach used Shell propriety software to generate a probabilistic inversion that resulted in PDF's for thickness, sand fraction and porosity. The inversion outputs were distributed in the reservoir static models generated in Petrel. At the finer reservoir scale the input parameters can be accurately compared to actual drilling results.
