摘要

A simplified vehicle numerical model which as a good correspondence to the actual tendency of shimmy was developed. Using this model. the effect of shimmy factors from the main sources such as wheelbase to the local sources such as suspension was analyzed. The tire performance and front suspension compliance are main factors of shimmy. A rather slight over-compliance tendency of the front suspension or permanently secured steering damping such as a viscous damper is necessary for drastic improvement of shimmy.
