Development of process-based temporal GIS for integrating and exchanging spatial knowledge

摘要

This paper represents the development of Process-based model for studying complex system in temporal GIS. Process-based model is aimed to integrate and exchange spatial knowledge in different fields of study (e.g., landscape ecology, urban geography) using a unified representation of spatial process. The development distinguishes itself from the current GIS by the ability to model and to study interactions among spatial processes spatio-temporally and dynamically. Due to the limitation of paper's length, this paper aims to cover the background theories and major functionality of Process-based model.
