The application of GIS technology in Real Estate Market Information System (REMIS)is discussed and studied. With the analysis on background and application status of real estate in China, several applied models are put forth in here. At the same time, author has an opinion that the new GIS applied model with the core of building table will be the future trend of real estate GIS development. The key technologies of real estate GIS are introduced that includes WebGIS/ComGIS, seamless integration of MIS/GIS/CAD/OA. As the opening of government policy in housing, fiscal charges and finance, people's consumptive conception in housing has an obviously change. Thus, real estate business giving priority to housing has keeping fast and healthy development. The other side of the coin, the over-rising investment of some cities, lack of effective supply of land, rapid rise in price and so on that bring about the serious market risk. With the accelerating development of real estate business, traditional manual management can not meet requirement of real estate business. Sine 1980, real estate market information system has undergone a total of five stages from the perspective of information technology development. Currently, with the core of GIS, integrating GIS/CAD/OA with MIS has been the popular model. At the same time, it has been the symbol of digital real estate. It was a new era that GIS technology was introduced to traditional real estate management. Surveying and mapping management, spatial data management and the distribution of spatial data has been the important component of GIS-based digital real estate information system. Research of GIS technology in real estate has been an interested point in the world. Foreign scholars focus on the business application of GIS technology in real estate, such as spatial analysis of real estate price evaluation, analysis of the real estate market. In some practice projects, we find that the model integrating GIS/CAD with MIS is absolutely depending on GIS spatial data. But the real estate department can not get the new and whole GIS data, especially in some cities that has two independent real estate department and land department. Therefore, this model has some limit. We draw a conclusion from projects that the new model with the core of building unit table and GIS can resolve this question and increase the effectiveness and practicality of the information system. Building unit table is a two-dimension relation table that represents physical state of building and housing information, such as area, house style, floors. With the business happening, the house state is changing that can be seen from building unit table. It is very useful for management department to get the whole and timely information about building. Building unit table can manage the property of building, but can not handle the spatial data. Therefore, it integrates with GIS can bring about effective information system to realize standardized management.
