Cleansing and Dismantling of CEA-Saclay Nuclear Licensed Facilities; LW PLANT PROGRAM

The Nuclear Licensed Facility 35 (NLF 35) or Station de Traitement des Effluents Liquides (STEL French acronym for Liquid Waste Treatment Plant (LWTP), includes collection, storage and processing equipment for aqueous liquid waste. Created in 1964, the NLF 35 underwent various modifications. The current evaporation process and the bitumen coating process were put into operation in the Seventies. The cleansing and dismantling operations relate to the old processes of the STEL treatment (evaporation and concentrates coating: building 387) and the old storage tanks of the aqueous and organics Medium and High Level Liquid Waste (MLLW and HLLW (building 393). These operations are carried out within the framework of the LNF 35 modification decree published in January 2004.
