FIBER OPTIC SENSING. PROTOTYPE RESULTS

Airbus DS Crisa has been developing an interrogator ofrnFiber Bragg Grating sensors [1], aimed at measuring ,rnmainly, temperature and strain by means of fiber opticrnlinks. This activity, funded by Airbus DS Crisa, ESArnand HBM Fibersensing, finalizes with thernmanufacturing of a prototype.rnThe present paper describes in detail the main outcomesrnof the testing activities of this prototype. At the momentrnof writing the paper all the functional tests have beenrnconcluded.rnThe environmental tests, thermal and mechanical, willrnbe conducted with the FOS interrogator forming part ofrnthe RTU2015, described in [2].
