EUCLID STAR CATALOGUE MANAGEMENT FOR THE FINE GUIDANCE SENSOR

The Fine Guidance Sensor is a key element of thernAOCS subsystem for the Euclid spacecraft in order tornachieve the required absolute pointing accuracy andrnpointing stability of the telescope Line of Sight. ThernFine Guidance Sensor is able to give measure of thernrelative attitude with respect to the first attitudernacquired and the measure of the absolute attitude withrnrespect to the inertial reference frame through the usernof an on-board Star Catalogue. The presence of at leastrn3 star-like objects per FoV is needed to compute thernattitude; considering the small FGS FoV (0.1x0.1deg)rnthe Star Catalogue shall be complete up to visualrnmagnitude 19 to allow the correct coverage. The paperrndescribes the implementation of the catalogue in thernFGS design and the management of the big amount ofrndata on ground, between ground and spacecraft, andrnon-board.
