Evaluation of hot stage extrusion as a production technique for solid dispersions inpharmaceutical industry

Melt extrusion is a relatively novel productiontechnique in the pharmaceutical industry. It is usedin fast release approaches such as solid dispersionsbut also in controlled release formulations. It ischaracterized by different process parameters,which may have an influence on the pharmaceuticalperformance and physicochemical characteristics ofthe manufactured solid dispersions. The studysuggested that the process was robust within theexamined parameter range.
