Numerical analyses of sound and vibration from the 225/50R17 smoothingrnradial tire, excited by surface load, have been carried out by using the FEMrnsoftware, ANSYS, and the BEM software, SYSNOISE. The displacementrnfrequency response of the tire which is respectively excited by radial contact force,rntangential contact force and lateral contact force are calculated by using FEM.rnThen, the radiated sound power, radiation efficiency, and the directivity of soundrnin far field are given by using BEM in which the velocity boundary condition, arerntransformed from nodal displacements of FE modal.
