The information of the velocity and the density is not required in the method of multicomponent decomposition described in this paper. The calculation of the method is very efficient and fast. The examples show that the multiples have a little affect the decomposition of the wavefield and multiples can be decomposed in the P and the converted wavefield, respectively. The length of the sliding window has some effects on the results when the related amplitude and phase of the adjacent gathers vary seriously. In fact, the segmented sliding window is applied in the examples.
