Low carbon steel has been extensively used under different conditions in industries. Chloride ions are particularly aggressive and accelerate corrosion of low carbon steel. One way of protecting steel from corrosion is to use inhibitors (1). Inhibitors are compounds that control, reduce, or prevent reactions between a metal and its surroundings when added to the medium in small quantities. One of the well-known inhibitors are surfactants. The adsorption of the surfactant molecules through their hydrophilic head, changes the corrosion resistance property of the metal. The inhibitor efficiency depends on the metal, inhibitor concentration (2-31), structure (5), pH (10), temperature (14,15,19,20), the type of acid (15) and immersion time (9,19). The inhibition action of surfactant molecules on the surface of metal would be significantly affected by the surface state and surface excess charge of metals.
