Toxin-VEGF Fusion Protein Inhibits Tumor Growth

摘要

Anti-tumor activity of a novel anti-angiogenic toxin-rnVEGF fusion protein is established. The proteinrnselectively kills (IC50 ～0.1 nM) growing endothelialrncells overexpressing receptor for vascular endothelialrngrowth factor, VEGFR-2, induces apoptosis in tumorrnendothelial cells upon intratumoral injection, andrninhibits tumor growth in two tumor animal models.rnThe protein is readily produced in bacteria, stablernupon long-term storage, and not particularlyrnimmunogenic in mice.
