The ore from Manastireni Valea Bedeciului is located in the northern part of the contact area between intrusive rocks (Muntele Rece granite) and crystalline schists of the metamorphic Somes series. It outcrops at the limit between two distinctive structural units: the Gilau Mountains and the Huedin Basin (included within the Transylvanian Depression). The Na- and K- feldspar, quartz and micas are the important minerals of pegmatite. They are obtained by a specific processing technology. For obtaining a high qualitative raw materials, the Fe containing minerals are eliminated. The main stages of the preparation technology consist of coarse grinding ( < 60 mm), fine grinding ( < 0.9 mm), followed by the 1st -flotation stage (for micas, and Iron-containing minerals) and the 2nd -flotation stage (for feldspars), drying, deferrisation, ball milling, and packaging. The chemical and mineralogical composition of the raw material, micas, feldspar and quartz, as well as the particle size distribution of feldspar and quartz obtained by flotation were investigated. The chemical compositions of the raw material, of micas resulted after the 1st flotation stage, of feldspar obtained after the 2nd flotation stage and of quartz are presented. The mineralogical compositions of the raw material, feldspar and of quartz are presented.
