CPSC STAFF RISK ASSESSMENT OF FLAME RETARDANT CHEMICALS IN UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE FABRICS

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff is developing a possible flammability performance standard for upholstered furniture. The CPSC staff assessed potential health risks associated with the use of selected flame retardant compounds among those identified by manufacturers as candidates for use in upholstery fabrics to meet a new standard. The selected compounds are those most likely to be used to meet the possible standard.
