Hand-Held PSA Aalyzer For Field Screening of Toxic Metals

A hand-held instrument is described which is capable of analyzing heavy metals in the field or factory at sub-pppb to ppm levels. Measureemnts are simplified by a disposable sensor which incorporates all needed reagents and automatically measures the sample size. The current system contains three disposable sensors: one detects cadmium, one detects copper and lead, and one detects zinc. Additional disposable sensors will be introduced during the next year for several other EPA Priority Pollutant Metals, may of them as multianalyte sets.
