EPA's Nonroad Mobile Emissions Model for Locomotives, Aircraft, and Marine Vessels: Proposed Methods and Databases

Under the sponsorship of the US EPA's Office of Mobile Sources, SAI is developing a computer model for nonroad mobile sources. Although data and methodologies continue to be revisited, an alpha version of the model is currently under review at EPA. The model currently provides estimates for eight general classes of nonroad mobile equipment. It is anticipated that three special nonroad equipment types will be added to the model: locomotives, aircraft,a nd marine vessels. This paper presents an overview of the internal methods and databases under consideration for the additional special equipment groups.
