An Inventory of Air Toxic Emissions in teh United States

This paper contains a discussion on the needs, production, and regulatory drivers for air toxics emissions data in the United States. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) determined that there were a number of program needs for a national air toxics inventory database. The EPA developed such a database system, now known as the National Toxics Inventory (NTI). The NTI database system is described in terms of the design of the system, system constraints, hardware and software issues, data sources, system capabilities, pollutant and source coverage, system limitations, example data outputs, and goals for future improvements.
