Fast emissions modeling with the sparse matrix operator kernel emissions (smoke) modeling system

Emissions modeling is a major bottleneck limiting the usefulenss of air quality modeling for environmental planning. Frequently, emissiosn models have computational requirements as large as the AQMs. Improving the turnaround time for emissions modeling from days (or weeks) to minutes or seconds will have major impacts on the usability of air quality modeling for environmental decision making.
