This paper studies the chaotic phenomenon of ferroresonance circuit. At first, a state variable equation of the circuit is derived from a Chua-typc magnetization model consisting of the nonlinear parameters. Second, the transient analysis of this system is carried out. Because of nonlinearity of the system, the characteristic values of the state transition matrix are calculated in each of iteration steps as well Finally, it is clarified that the characteristic values trace on the same loci although exhibiting the chaotic phenomenon. This suggests that the changes of coercive forces are tightly related with the chaotic behaviors.
