Two methods have been adopted in the attempt to extract point sources from LWS serendipity data. A simple post-pipeline processing algorithm, which looks for detections on adjacent detectors in slews, has produced an initial set of 6706 candidates in the 538 available revolutions. A first analysis of all the candidates has allowed us to extract an initial list of 53 possible identifications. Inspection of the data has shown that the algorithm is both capable of making false detections and non-detections of genuine sources: hence further work is needed. An investigation was made of the use of FFT filtering for both point sources and backgrounds. The size of the LWS beam and the speed of slewing is shown to be a limiting factor for point source detection, however this method is useful for background filtering.
