In January 1996 the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Air and Radiation initiated an effort to locate and collect NO_x emissions data from coal-fired electric utilities using selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce NO_x emissions. SCR applications in the United States, Germany and Sweden were examined, and, as of this report, SCR related NO_x data from fourteen utility plants and twenty-five separately monitored coal-fired boiler units have been obtained. Continuous hourly or half-hourly data were obtained for eleven units, and summary data covering up to a year were obtained for fourteen. Summarized in Table 1 are the data received to date. At the request of several German utilities, the identities of plants in Table 1 have been coded to maintain confidentiality.
