SOCIAL NETWORKING AS SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RECONFIGURATION: A CASE STUDY OF ACESSASP

This is an investigative ethnographical study on thernparticipation of youths and young adults in the AcessaSPrndigital inclusion program, financed by the S?o Paulo StaternGovernment and developed in partnership with NAPrnSchool of the Future/USP. It covers analyses of profilesrnand the uses of social networking tools and theirrnimplications for the program. It makes use of a significantrnsampling methodology involving focus groups for therncollection of qualitative data, subsequently organized byrngeographical region and age range. The results indicate arnmassive adoption of social networking services, likernOrkut, by the program participants, thus detailing newrnsocial configurations in the proliferation of these services.
