The increasing line speed in coloring has increased the importance of understanding the behavior of fiber during ink application. In ink application, the coating pressure, ink viscosity, die radius, nozzle length, fiber radius and fiber speed affect the coloring quality. The outputs that we want to control in the ink application process are the applicator pressure, tension after coloring and ink layer thickness. Our target was experimentally to find the ideal parameters to achieve the requested tension, ink layer thickness and higher speed. The influence of various coloring parameters on the coloring quality was tested. Test runs were performed at different line speeds. As a result, the behavior of fiber tension and final diameter in ink application were clarified. As practical result, new optimized control parameters for coloring were found.
