Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) synthesis reaction by oxidative carbonylation of methanol hasrnbeen studied in a slurry reaction system in the presence of CuCl-zeolite (HZSM, DASY) catalysts.rnA series of CuCl-zeolite catalysts were prepared by solid-state ion exchange under flowingrnnitrogen. The condition of the catalyst preparation and the reaction were investigated. The resultsrnshowed that HZSM-CuCl catalyst had a better catalystic performance than DASY-CuCl catalyst.rnHZSM-CuCl catalyst prepared at 350℃~450℃ for 4h under flowing nitrogen had the bestrncatalystic performance, I.e. 93~97% selectivity of dimethyl carbonate based on methanol, 30%rnconversion of methanol, 0.56kg/kg·h space time yield (STY). The morphological analysis byrnX-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and FTIR has shown thatrnthe catalyst has a clustering phenomena and the existence of copper chloride hydroxidesrn(Cu(OH)3Cl) after reaction.
