Currently, the one predictable thing is the unpredictability of thernenvironment in which enterprises are operating. No wonder businessesrnare striving for ways to introduce predictability in the way they perform.rnOur goal here is to present an analytical performance model for a batchrnprocessing business application. It is based on the study proposed by Dr.rnGunther in his technical paper [Gunther 2001] which is a pre-requisite torngo ahead with understanding this paper. In our study, a methodology tornquantify the throughput for a higher load batch configuration based onrnknowledge of throughput for preliminary loads is proposed. It will helprngreatly to predict the number of processors required to achieve maximumrnthroughput for an application. Also, we have been able to predict thernoptimum number of parallel processes to achieve maximum throughput forrna system.rnWe believe that it would aid performance analysts to determine thernscalability of an application without performing the measurements inrnentirety thus saving lot of physical resources, time and effort for anrnotherwise tedious task.
