The paper presents the results of the year 2000analysis in respect of the quality of the servicesrendered to customers by the electricity supplier.The topics dealt with in it, include the technicalmatters of power quality as a side of theElectromagnetic Consistency, here included thematters related to the service quality.The results of the analysis made in respect of thequality of the electricity supplied to customers inRomania, in 2000 (big industrial customers, smallcustomers and house holding customers) are alsopresented. Starting from these results, rules andresponsibilities are established for the contractualparties regarding the compliance to the quality termsof the electricity supplied to customers.Analyses also refer to the activity of the NationalElectricity Distribution Company of Romania, as thelargest electricity supplier in the country.The paper includes as well the results of monitoringthe electric power quality indices in several points ofthe distribution system. The electric power qualitymeasurements are made in compliance with asustained program, mainly in the coupling pointsbetween supplier and customers.In the end, the main actions for the period of 2002 to2005 in the distribution and supply of electricity inRomania are identified, based on the EuropeanCommunity Directives. They are included in a NationalProgram of Power Quality now being implemented inRomania (PNCEE).
