The diffusion pattern of the feedstock in FCC riser was investigated in a large cold-riser model that was made of 0.186-m-ID plexiglass. When the feedstock jet is injected into, a secondary flow of the jet will come forth in the vicinity of the riser wall, and this flow extends at first and then merges into the main stream. The occurrence of the jet secondary flow can be interpreted by the vorticity distribution and its location was given.
