This paper is an example of the studies on the Visualisation of combustor flows. The test was conducted under great Reynolds Numbers. The flow field was recorded by measuring and drawing the flow pattern inside the combustor using strong slice source. By comparison and analysis, a low-loss combustor, which meets the requirments for the dome flow pattern, has been chosen for hot rig test verification. Besides, a new method to measure the distribution of flametube, locking off some holes, was used. The key points of the method is to control the conditions of flow and to block off the holes to be measured. Then, the total flux variation with the flow conditions is measured. From this, the flux through this holesrow can be worked out, The method seems to be simple, reliable, economic, practical and more accurate. It is one of the indispensable means in experimental reserach.
