摘要

The authors have recently presented a new coal fractionation method that can separate coal into several fractions having different molecular mass just like petroleum distillations without decomposing coal [1, 2]. This method utilizes solvent extraction technique that we had proposed [3,4]. The technique extracts coal using a flowing stream of non-polar solvent such as tetralin or 1-methylnaphthalene under 10 MPa at temperature lower than 350℃. The fractionation can be realized through sequential extractions at different temperatures.
