The thesis introduces the procedure of research on the damage of drill rod and its conclusion. A lot of drill rods have been damaged or corroded in PH oil and gas field in the offshore of China since 1997 during drilling. And it was called by engineers of rig site as cut through of rod in drilling fluid. The research had developed by a hundred experts and professors, where are in almost 20 colleges and universities and institutes. The engineers where are 8 oil fields had taken party in the study on the damage of rod. The persons to study the item were from 5 cities, 5 special majors, and 24 departments. They did 11 huge experiments and wrote 13 reports to find the cause that result in the damage of rod of drill. It had been used that 3 patents technology of China in the research. It showed that result of research that the controlling corroding is engineering of integration. And it needs some corporation of many special science and technologies. The research proved that it exits in H_2S in PH oil and gas field though it is very little in the formation. It is good for d making plan to develop the oil field and design the equipment in future, and it has important significance of reference to raise level of management of the oil field.
