Novel mixed matrix membranes were prepared by incorporating NaX zeolite int℃hitosan polymer for the pervaporative separation of isopropanol from water. The membrane was formed on the outer surface of a porous ceramic support with chitosan/zeolite mixture by a vacuum slip casting (VSC) method. The Membranes were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The membrane property was determined by pervaporation experiments. The results showed that the prepared membranes strongly exhibited a water permselectivity for the water-alcohol mixtures.
