Study on Gasification Property of Petroleum Coke with Black Liquor as Catalyst

Petroleum coke is a byproduct during the refining oil process in delay-coke equipment. It is an effective and clean way to produce syngas by petroleum coke gasification. However, petroleum coke has a bad reactivity. There are plenty of alkali metal species in the black liquid which is from paper-making industry waste. The effects of black liquid on the gasification of petroleum coke were investigated under different conditions. The conditions include temperature and black liquor loading content. The catalytic effects of the organic components and inorganic components, crude black liquor and the pure alkali metal species were analyzed and compared in order to investigate the catalytic mechanism of black liquor.
