The synthetic dyeing wastewater and actual dyeing wastewater were decontaminated by the tourmaline. The influencing factors, such as adsorption time, reaction temperature, pH value, dosage, dyeing wastewater concentration and sizes, were studied in this article. The experimental results indicated that tourmaline has a selectivity to dyeing solution, especially to acid blue black (10B )dyeing solution. The best adsorption conditions were obtained that adsorption time is 60min, wastewater pH is 2.3, tourmaline size is 23-18um, reaction temperature is 35 ℃. The max absorption of 1000g tourmaline was 18g dye. When pearly mica dyeing wastewater absorbency was 0.457, decoloration rate could be up to 97.8% by tourmaline adsorbing. The research results indicated that tourmaline decoloration is a result of combined action of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption.
