A dynamic optimization is us d for stablishing th plantwid control structur . The optimization probl m is formulat d in a form of Dynamic Mix d Int g r Nonlin ar Programming (DMINLP). An obj ctiv function is th m asur of th dynamic control performanc and th cost of manipulat d variabl s. In this work, th T nn ss Eastman (TE) process is selectd as the testbed problem. The set of controlled variables (CVs) is selected initially. Next, the control structures of the important CVs are stablished by optimization, whil th control structur s of th r maining controll d variables ar stablish d by h uristic. Proportional and Integral (PI) controllers are applied with all control loops. The obtained control structures are tested in the face of disturbanc and they are also evaluated for the dynamic control performance.
