Abstract: In this work we studied the optical spectra of dysprosium and ytterbium doped double chloride MePb$-2$/Cl$- 5$/:RE$+3$PLU$/ (Me $EQ K, Rb), and double fluoride LiYF$- 4$/:RE$+3$PLU$/ (RE$+3$PLU$/ $EQ Dy, Yb) crystals. RE$+3$PLU$/ doped double chloride and double fluoride crystals have been grown, by using Bridgeman technique. Optical spectra were studied, intensity parameters are determined using Judd-Ofelt method and radiative probabilities and branching ratio were calculated. Yb$+3$PLU$/ -Dy$+3$PLU$/ energy transfer processes in KPb$- 2$/Cl$-5$/:Dy$+3$PLU$/,Yb$+3$PLU$/ and LiYF$- 4$/:Dy$+3$PLU$/,Yb$+3$PLU$/ were considered.!4
