Reasons of Deformities shaped in adhesively bonded structure and their effective nondestructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing, acoustic impedance testing, acoustic optics testing, acoustic ultrasonic testing, acoustic emission testing, are briefly introduced on their principles, advantages and limitations in applications. Experiments demonstrated that acoustic emission testing is an effective method and the range distribution of AE signal as well as frequency is closely related to the strength of metal adhesively bonded structure, type, size, location, extension shape of deformities.
