Wireless LAN Bi-directional Authentication

摘要

The controversy of Chinese WLAN standards GB 15629.11-2003[1] and GBrn15629.1102-2003[2] has come to an end when Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yirnannounced the decision to indefinitely delay implementation of the Wireless LANrnAuthentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI) standard. However, such a politicalrndecision should not end the future of a technology. There are possibilities to applyrnWAPI authentication and encryption characteristics to enhance the reliability ofrnwireless access and the security of data transfer effectively. This article describesrnWAPI concept and proposes possibilities to utilize WAPI in WLAN.
