Using the ATM technique to arry efficiently variable bitrate ocnnectios is a challenge which gives rise to numerous studies and proposals.Aside from open loop schemes ushc as Deterministic Bit Reate and Statistical Bit Rate,much attention is paid on procedures able at makign profit of the characteristics of attentin is paid on procedures able at makign profit of the caharactreristics of "elastic traffic".here,the source is assumed to be able to adapt its behaviour to the netowrk state.
