In Brazil, several actions related to energy efficiency have been developed by electricity distribution service companies through a specific program regulated by the national electric energy agency (Agência Nacional de Energia Eletrica - ANEEL). This article tried to evaluate how the end user of electric energy has absorbed the concepts related to the theme, since the actions by the end consumer side will be essential in the planning of the national electric system to supply the future demand of the country.
