摘要

The current state, the problem and the direction of the future of refractories installed in melting furnaces in Japan are presented. The melting furnace of incinerated ash and the gasification-melting furnace are at real business stage now, and refractories containing Cr_2O_3 are chiefly installed. There are strong needs to extend the life of refractories more and more in the future. On the other hand, there are needs to use chrome-free refractories from the viewpoint of environmental problems. Various melting furnaces will be developed with the disposal of various industrial wastes in the future. The condition of the operation has also changed by the differences of waste. The contribution of refractory technology is expected.
