COMBINED EXTRACTION OF CESIUM, STRONTIUM, PLUTONIUM AND AMERICIUM FROM ALKALINE RADIOACTIVE WASTES

An extraction mixture based on tert-butylcalix[rn6]arene, 4-alky-2-di-(2-hydroxyethyl)-aminomethylphenolrnand different-radical phosphine oxidern(POR) in n-paraffine is proposed for combined recoveryrnof Cs, Sr, actinides and Tc from alkaline high-levelrnradioactive wastes. It is shown that POR in this systemrnis a solubilizer for calixarene and an extractant for Tc.rnThe proposed extraction mixture has been tested onrnactual alkaline HLW of "Mayak" PA. More than 99.9%rnof gross β-activity and about 90% of gross α-activity arernremoved from HLW in the course of static test.
