An experimental study of the real-time indoor pollutant behavior in the public transport busesrunning on biodiesel in the city of Toledo is presented. The in-vehicle concentrations ofparticulate matter, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide, and nitrogendioxide were collected between June 2007 and September 2007 for the analysis. In addition tothese contaminants, temperature and relative humidity are also measured inside the bus.Particulate matter data were collected only during the months of August and September and theresults are discussed along with the gaseous data collected for the period of four months.Regression tree analysis performed using the CART? software helped in identifying the factorsaffecting the pollutant concentrations for each month. The pollutant trends are plotted usingMINITAB?. It was found that the factors affecting in-vehicle pollutants were different indifferent months. This observation is different from most of the results reported in the literature.
