Effect of Initial Texture on the Texture Evolution of IF Steel

Twice-repeated cold rolling and annealing process was applied to a conventionally produced Ti bearing IF steel for the investigation of the effect of initial texture. Mean plastic strain ratio (r_m) was increased from 2.17 to 3.5 by applying the 2nd cold rolling ratio of 70% followed by continuous annealing at 800℃ for 30 seconds. Texture analysis showed that the cold rolling texture in 2nd cold rolled sheet was different from that of conventionally cold rolled specimen, i.e., the evolution of cold rolling texture was dependent on the initial texture before cold rolling. The {111} < 112 > component among γ-fiber of cold rolling texture components came to be the strongest texture component by 2nd cold rolling. The change of experimental r_m values with processing steps was compared with the calculated values from texture intensities by polycrystalline plasticity, and both were in good agreement with each other.
